Welcome to Comrie Golf ClubLocated in west Perthshire, at the foot of the Highlands, Comrie Golf Club was founded in 1891 and offers wonderful views of the surrounding hills. Although not long by modern standards, our 9 hole course will test golfers of all abilities, and has long been acknowledged as one of the more interesting courses in the county, making full use of the natural topography amongst clusters of birch and pine. The original course was laid out by "25 gentlemen of the village". Subsequent alterations by William Fernie, followed by James Braid (1924), have given the Club the course that is still enjoyed by members and visitors today. The 9 holes measure 2699 / 2448 yards from the men's / ladies forward tees respectively. Clubhouse catering is available daily (10-4) from April to October; catering outwith these hours can be arranged by prior arrangement. Only a 20 minute drive from Gleneagles, Comrie is an hour from both Edinburgh and Glasgow, and the normal route from the south via the B827 provides a magnificent panorama of Comrie, Strathearn, and the Highlands to the north. The name is derived from "Cuimridh" (Gaelic - meeting of the rivers); an apt reflection on the waters of the Ruchill, Lednock and Earn which meet in the centre of the village. "One of the finest and most scenic 9-hole courses in the UK" (Today's Golfer) |
